About The Position

The Product Merchandising organization at Netflix is responsible for delivering intuitive merchandising and local expertise to help members find and choose content. As a premier distribution service, this role provides insights and feedback to internal and external partners regarding how Netflix presents their titles. The position requires a centralized effort to identify, curate, and package information to ensure partners understand and trust the distribution experience. This role is responsible for the strategy and execution of this communication effort, acting as a liaison between technical and creative teams, and possessing both quantitative and qualitative skillsets to understand the impacts of promotional behaviors on partners globally. The ideal candidate is energized by a rapidly-evolving area and fast-paced environment, with experience in entertainment partners being strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Merchandising, Partnerships or Product Marketing roles at a large-scale company (preferably in tech and/or entertainment).
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive alignment amid ambiguity.
  • Superior written (memos and presentations) and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of translating complexity into accessible information.
  • Understanding of Entertainment business fundamentals and consumer behaviors.
  • Output-oriented; delivers in a timely manner and focuses on work products rather than concepts or theoreticals.
  • Strategic, big-picture thinker with a strong partner-focused mindset and empathy.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders of various backgrounds and effectively synthesize inputs and context into concrete recommendations and next steps.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying product experience changes (algorithmic, design, or merchandising driven) that materially impact title/slate experiences or expectations.
  • Driving quantitative insights to capture the scale and scope of impact on partners, identifying necessary questions and collaborating with Performance leads when information is missing.
  • Creating central source documentation outlining changes and impacts in partner-appropriate terms, in collaboration with Product Management and other stakeholders.
  • Delivering communication guidance, in partnership with the Comms team, for discussing product changes with external partners, requiring a deep understanding of partner conversations and feature impacts.
  • Partnering with Regional Lead Merchandisers to understand partner curiosities and concerns, and helping to program discussion or educational sessions.
  • Ensuring documentation is easily accessible to Product Merchandising globally and scaling information to individual contributors.
  • Partnering with Product Marketing to coordinate cascades to global marketing teams as needed.
