About The Position

A leading national accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Partnership Taxation Senior Manager to join their tax practice. This is a backfill position with preferred location in Dallas; Houston and Austin are also considered. The firm is seeking candidates who can step into the role quickly, guide complex engagements, and mentor junior team members. Candidates must be capable of becoming actionable leaders within a 3–6 month ramp-up period. The Partnership Taxation Senior Manager leads primary and secondary reviews of complex partnership tax returns and provides tax consulting services for partnership clients. This role collaborates with the Partnership Tax team to make recommendations on return preparation and tax savings opportunities, with a focus on accuracy, quality, and client service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA required — active Texas license or reciprocity to TX
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and public accounting
  • Experience with partnership structuring, entity formation, and mergers and acquisitions preferred
  • Strong analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, partnership returns, joint venture and non-corporate entity tax returns, and Sub-chapter K
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills
  • Strong leadership, business development, training, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Hybrid schedule — minimum 3 days in office or at client site
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage client IRC 704b accounts
  • Attract, mentor, and develop talented tax professionals
  • Oversee multiple client service teams on engagements — plan, execute, and complete tax projects across a wide variety of industries
  • Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients
  • Develop and maintain new business and client relationships
  • Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and year-end performance reviews
  • Research and consult on Sub-chapter K partnership taxation matters
  • Respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries
  • Maintain active client communication and support business development activities
