The Participant Account Specialist will support the Southwestern region and report into the Regional Vice President. This role involves representing Mutual of America in a sales and marketing capacity, conducting group and individual meetings on-site at a Regional Office’s group client.

Requirements

  • At least two years of sales experience or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in presenting in a group setting to a variety of size groups
  • Individual sales experience and being comfortable with cold calling
  • General business acumen with strong motivation and communication skills
  • Active FINRA Series 6 and 63 or must obtain within the first 180 days of employment
  • Active State Life and Health Insurance License (in all states covered) required or obtained within 180 days of employment
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CRPS designation preferred after 5 years in sales related position
  • Knowledge of products underwritten by the company (401k and 403b retirement plan)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the rollout and enrollment of participants in newly established 401k and 403b plans through group and individual meetings
  • Enhance the company’s relationship with the participants, while cross selling individual products during on-site group and individual employee meetings
  • Actively network and prospect new participants to add to Mutual of America’s product suite
  • Increase enrollment, contributions and obtaining transfers from current group plan participants
  • Follow up on direct mail, advertising and website leads forwarded to the Regional office
  • Act as a financial liaison with participants on all matters concerning individual products, including investment alternatives offered under the contract
  • Collaborate and present with other colleagues to show and prove our service model to prospects who are on the verge of buying our group products
  • Coordinate client service matters with local Regional Office service staff and any appropriate home office departments
