About The Position

Rio Tinto is seeking a Performance Improvement Business Partner to join their Aluminium product group's performance improvement team. This role is ideal for a motivated and dynamic individual interested in business improvement, performance management, and transformation. The position offers an excellent opportunity to build strong relationships with various stakeholders to foster and operationalize change. You will be integrated into site and functional teams, working closely to support their respective challenges. Reporting to the Director of Performance Improvement, your responsibilities will include ensuring safe work practices, supporting the deployment of Rio Tinto's standards and processes, promoting a culture of improvement, and coaching teams in implementing sustainable changes. You will apply and explain Lean and Six Sigma concepts, support management committees on strategic activities, facilitate the delivery of initiatives, coordinate transformation within your area of responsibility, and organize workshops to build full potential. You will also define and coach improvement approaches for complex issues and respond to ad-hoc requests for urgent operational problems.

Requirements

  • Commitment to ensuring your safety and that of your team.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance, human resources, or other related field.
  • Minimum of fifteen years of progressive experience in leading and/or implementing business improvement or operational excellence projects.
  • High capacity for synthesizing information and understanding issues.
  • Business perspective and strategy implementation.
  • Knowledge and experience of improvement approaches such as global process piloting, Lean environments, change management, strategy and planning, or project management.
  • Ability to influence and implement change through effective stakeholder management at all levels within a complex and matrix organization.
  • Leader demonstrating initiative, motivation, a strong will to succeed, and the ability to navigate a matrix organization.
  • Ability to foster collaboration, autonomy, and creativity within the team.
  • Good command of French and English.
