About The Position

The Franklin County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Center is seeking a dedicated and reliable Barn Worker to assist with the daily care of our horses and facilities. This role includes feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for our therapeutic riding programs. Requirements

  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
  • Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with animals
  • Experience supporting a mission that serves individuals with disabilities
  • Experience exercising and evaluating horses on horseback

Responsibilities

  • Turnout/bring in horses
  • Blanket horses as necessary
  • Feed horses hay and grain as instructed by Stable Manager
  • Clean stalls
  • Clean and fill waterers/troughs
  • Sweep barn aisle
  • Give medications and first aid to horses when needed
  • Some weekend and holiday hours required.
  • If deemed experienced enough, assist with exercising and evaluating horses on horseback.
  • All other duties as assigned by the stable manager.
