About The Position
The Franklin County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Center is seeking a dedicated and reliable Barn Worker to assist with the daily care of our horses and facilities. This role includes feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for our therapeutic riding programs. Requirements
- PA State Police Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
- Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
- Valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with animals
- Experience supporting a mission that serves individuals with disabilities
- Experience exercising and evaluating horses on horseback
Responsibilities
- Turnout/bring in horses
- Blanket horses as necessary
- Feed horses hay and grain as instructed by Stable Manager
- Clean stalls
- Clean and fill waterers/troughs
- Sweep barn aisle
- Give medications and first aid to horses when needed
- Some weekend and holiday hours required.
- If deemed experienced enough, assist with exercising and evaluating horses on horseback.
- All other duties as assigned by the stable manager.
