About The Position

Farmers Union Industries, LLC, also known as FUI, is a leading agricultural-based manufacturing company headquartered in Redwood Falls, MN. Our current operations include Central Bi-Products, Northland Choice, Midwest Grease, Artex Manufacturing, Redwood Farms Meat Processors, and Performance Pet Products. Redwood Farms Meat Processors, located in Estherville, IA, processes hogs of varying sizes allowing us to offer a variety of cuts and cut sizes. We offer an hourly starting wage of $20.49/Hr., a weekly paycheck, and opportunities to increase your pay as you learn more skills!

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of humane handling; ability to attain sign-off from management to handle animals within the first week of employment
  • Ability to identify and sort animals
  • Ability to accurately count, complete basic math operations, and read a scale to understand weights
  • Ability to communicate and accurately and legibly record information
  • Ability to follow all USDA, HACCP, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work safely with animals and around sharp objects
  • Comfortable with euthanizing animals, if performing that specific duty
  • Ability to work in a facility that processes hogs; be comfortable working with and/or around blood
  • Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes
  • Stand and/or walk up to 100% of workday
  • Consistently and repetitively perform tasks
  • Frequently lift/push/pull heavy objects up to 150 pounds
  • Consistently bend at the knees and/or waist in potentially awkward positions
  • Consistently turn and/or twist
  • Ability to work in an environment with extreme cold, wet/slippery conditions, and/or loud noise levels

  • Experience working with livestock, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, feed, water, and record daily care and activities of animals
  • Maintain a clean work environment including pens, unloading areas, etc.
  • Assist with moving hogs from trucks into the facility; properly sort hogs into various pens
  • Complete paperwork for received hogs such as scale weights
  • Move hogs from pens to processing and complete euthanasian procedures, if assigned to that specific duty
  • Report problems and/or broken or damaged equipment, as needed
  • Maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance
