About The Position

The Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems at Penn State University Park invites applications for a part-time research assistant to start May 2026. The successful candidate will assist Dr. Qian Chen for up to 10 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work carefully with both structured and unstructured data.
• Excellent writing, reading, and organizational skills, with the ability to summarize academic literature clearly and accurately.
• Interest in research related to AI, human-AI collaboration, or experimental design.

Nice To Haves

• prior coursework or experience in statistics, data analysis, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data preparation and cleaning by organizing research data, evaluation records, and related project materials; and by cleaning, formatting, and maintaining datasets for analysis.
• Support coding and data analysis by documenting coding results accurately, tracking key evaluation dimensions such as novelty, clarity, feasibility, and overall quality, and helping identify patterns in both structured and unstructured data.
• Conduct literature reviews and support report writing related to human-AI collaboration, evaluation methods, and experimental design, including drafting literature review sections and assisting with manuscript development.
