About The Position

This position is located in the Parks Department at the Milford Recreation Center. The role primarily involves working nights and weekends, assisting with custodial duties such as cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep of the facility. The job also includes performing customer service functions, processing registrations for various activities, preparing facilities for daily schedules, and maintaining attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Supplemented by one year of work experience that shows an ability to maintain steady employment in any field.
• Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
• Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
• Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Responsibilities

• Performs customer service functions: provides information or assistance regarding services, activities on the phone and in person, forms, procedures, fees, or other issues; responds to routine questions and complaints; researches problems and initiates problem resolution; and refers complaints/problems to appropriate personnel.
• Processes participant registrations, court reservations, tournament registrations, and other scheduled services and events: receives requests for classes, court times, or other scheduled services; reviews registration forms for accuracy and completeness; enters information into online database and calendars; collects and records fees; and maintains related documentation.
• Prepares facilities according to daily schedule: opens and closes facility; unlocks and locks doors; turns lights on or off; disarms and sets alarm; moves, sets up, and tears down tables, chairs, etc.; and performs routine cleaning duties such as emptying trash, sweeping floors, etc.
• Maintains attendance and punctuality within customary tolerances for this position.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Assist with custodial duties such as cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep of the facility.
