Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Special Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or diverse populations
• Experience programming adaptive recreation, special events, and ongoing general recreation activities
• Experience directly supervising subordinate staff and managing various projects
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt activities creatively to meet diverse needs
• Knowledge of inclusive recreation principles and practices
• CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
• Valid Driver's License (or ability to obtain)
• Must pass background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation preferred
• Candidates with 3+ years of experience are strongly preferred for working with individuals with disabilities or diverse populations
• Candidates with 3+ years of experience are strongly preferred for programming adaptive recreation, special events, and ongoing general recreation activities
• Candidates with 3+ years of experience are strongly preferred for directly supervising subordinate staff and managing various projects

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver inclusive recreation programs and events for participants of varying abilities
• Assess participant needs and implement appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Train and support staff and volunteers on inclusive practices and ADA considerations
• Collaborate with families, caregivers, and community partners to enhance program accessibility
• Manage program registrations, participant documentation, and reports
• Evaluate programs and outcomes to continuously improve services
• Promote programs through outreach and community engagement efforts
• Ensure safety protocols and risk management practices are followed at all times
