About The Position
East Wind Nannies is seeking a dependable, proactive Nanny/Household Assistant for a family in Highland Park, Pittsburgh. The position involves caring for one five-year-old boy and helping manage household tasks while he is at school. The family’s parents travel frequently and are looking for someone who can take ownership of day-to-day details and help keep the household running smoothly. The workday is 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, three days per week. Tuesday through Thursday is preferred, but the family is open to any three days from Monday through Thursday. Mornings include helping the child get ready for school, gathering his belongings, and driving him to school in Mt. Washington, about 30 minutes from the family’s home in Highland Park. The school day is approximately 8:30 AM to 2:30 or 3:00 PM. During school hours, the assistant handles household tasks such as laundry, grocery shopping, meal preparation, unloading the dishwasher, putting items away, and organizing spaces. After school, the assistant picks up the child and provides care and playtime until 5:00 PM. The family can accommodate unpaid personal appointment or errand time during school hours if coordinated in advance. The position runs through June 2027, with the possibility of continued employment for approximately one day per week afterward. A reliable personal vehicle is required for school transportation; mileage is reimbursed. The home has one cat.
Requirements
- At least two years of previous nanny experience.
- Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and clean driving record.
- Reliable, dependable, communicative, and proactive.
- Comfortable managing time independently and balancing childcare with household responsibilities.
- Safe, responsible driver comfortable with the commute between Highland Park and Mt. Washington.
Responsibilities
