About The Position
A part-time hybrid role combining household management with childcare and family support for a two-working-dad household in Saint Paul with children ages 6 and 4. The family is seeking a proactive, reliable, warm, and organized person for a hoped-for multi-year collaboration. The role includes supporting the home’s organization and maintenance while providing attentive care and enrichment for the children. The family prioritizes a screen-lite environment, with a maximum of 15 minutes of screen time per day, and emphasizes reading, enrichment, and quality time. The position is approximately 10–15 hours per week across 1–2 days per week, with some flexibility to adjust hours slightly during the summer to accommodate camp schedules and afternoon activities. The start date is ASAP. The family has a regular weekly housekeeper and no pets.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of professional nanny and/or household management experience.
- Calm, easygoing, neat, organized, and genuinely caring manner.
- Proactive approach, including taking initiative to suggest ways to optimize household operations and anticipate the family’s needs.
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and influenza.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Reliable vehicle for school and activity drop-offs and errands.
Responsibilities
- Handle laundry for the children and family.
- Complete light housekeeping and organizational projects, including tidying and organizing the children’s closets and rooms.
- Find and coordinate with vendors such as handymen and arrange home repairs and services.
- Run occasional errands, such as post office visits, car maintenance, and grocery or household pickups.
- Prepare light meals and meals for the children.
- Pack and unpack for trips and help prepare for special events.
- Pick up the children from school and afternoon activities and drive them to camps or lessons.
- Provide general childcare and actively engage the children in enrichment activities.
- Support the family’s reading-focused routine.
