Job SummaryThe Part-Time Music Teacher at Christ the King Catholic School provides high-quality music instruction that supports students’ musical development while fostering a faith-centered learning environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field (required or preferred, per school requirements).
  • Knowledge of vocal and/or instrumental instruction techniques.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of Christ the King Catholic School.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching certification or relevant instructional experience (preferred).
  • Experience teaching music to elementary or middle school students (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate music instruction aligned with school and diocesan curriculum guidelines.
  • Teach fundamental music skills, including rhythm, melody, vocal performance, music theory, and listening skills.
  • Integrate Catholic traditions, liturgical music, and seasonal celebrations into instruction as appropriate.
  • Prepare students for school liturgies, performances, and special events as assigned.
  • Create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that supports student participation and creativity.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback aligned with instructional goals.
  • Maintain appropriate classroom management and adherence to school behavior expectations.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administration, and liturgy staff to support school-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development as required.
  • Adhere to school policies, diocesan guidelines, and professional standards.
