About The Position

The Department of Public Health and Health Sciences in Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences is hiring part-time lecturers for the 2026–2027 academic year at the Boston campus. The Department promotes the health and well-being of diverse individuals, communities, and populations through health care innovations and interdisciplinary collaboration across scientific fields, engineering, and the humanities. It is committed to fostering excellence through diversity and welcomes applications from people underrepresented in academia. Lecturers prepare and teach courses, including developing syllabi, lectures, course materials, examinations, and assessments of student performance. They may develop and deliver materials for in-person, online, or hybrid courses. Lecturers work under the direction of Lead Faculty, hold office hours as appropriate, engage productively with teaching assistants, and collaborate with department faculty and Northeastern’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning through Research on course revisions and improvements. Representative courses include Healthcare Policy and Administration, covering healthcare management and policy, organizational structures, financing, and the factors that influence population health; and Principles of Epidemiology in Medicine and Public Health, which introduces epidemiological principles and research design, critical evaluation of scientific literature, causal inference, and statistical methods and data analysis. The epidemiology course has no computational requirements. Applicants must have at least a master’s degree in an appropriate field. Doctoral degrees and teaching experience are preferred. Applicants should submit a CV or resume and a cover letter describing their qualifications and the Public Health or Health Sciences course they are prepared to teach.
