About The Position

The Department of Biological Science at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in various biology subject areas including General Biology, Human Anatomy, Vertebrate Anatomy, Human Physiology, General Human Physiology, Comparative Animal Physiology, Cellular Neurobiology, Plant Cell Physiology, and Plant Physiological Ecology. This is a part-time appointment, typically to teach credit-bearing biology courses in person at the lower division level. Responsibilities may include course instruction, preparing materials, administering assignments and examinations, grading, holding office hours, attending lab preparatory meetings and lecturer meetings, and participating in field trips if applicable. Appointments from this pool are temporary and may be made on short notice, often just prior to the start of an academic term.

Requirements

  • A Masters or PhD degree in Anatomy, Physiology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Content knowledge of the various subject areas listed.
  • Spoken English communication skills.
  • Written English communication skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Professional presentation and demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Providing classroom instruction.
  • Preparing course materials and administering assignments to students.

  • Participating in all class field trips, if applicable.
  • Completing all necessary trainings.
