About The Position

The University Honors Program at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking applications from individuals who are student-centered to teach in various subject areas within the program. This is a general recruitment for a pool of part-time lecturers from which the program will draw as needed. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions become available.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. (or ABD with an expected graduation date) or a MS/MA in a related field in the appropriate area of assignment, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Complete an online application.
  • Submit a Cover Letter which includes a statement of which course qualified to teach.
  • Submit a Curriculum Vitae.
  • Submit a Copy of your unofficial transcripts conferring your highest terminal degree.
  • Submit a list of three (3) references with contact information.
  • Submit a Teaching statement discussing teaching philosophies/pedagogies.
  • Submit Sample Course Syllabi.
  • Provide three letters of recommendation before official hire.
  • Provide Official transcripts from the institution’s Registrar’s office emailed to: [email protected] before official hire.
  • Comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment (Mandated Reporter per CANRA).
  • Pass a satisfactory background check.
  • Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct (if reaching final stages).

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the University Honors Program in subject areas including Intro University Honors Colloquium, Critical Thinking, Oral Communication, American Institutions and Values, World Civilizations, Honors Natural Science & Math, Honors California Government and Politics, Honors Arts and Humanities, and Honors Social Sciences.
  • Foster intellectual curiosity and promote a commitment to inclusion among highly motivated, socially aware, and academically experienced students.
  • Provide intense curricular and co-curricular experiences that engage society's contemporary challenges.
  • Engage in regular performance evaluations as per the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy.
  • Potentially have syllabi, assignments, and reading materials reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
