About The Position

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the subject areas of Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • An advanced (i.e. Masters or ABD, PhD, EdD) degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • A complete online application must be submitted.
  • Provide a Cover Letter which includes a statement of which courses qualified to teach.
  • Provide Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume.
  • Provide Names and contact information for 3 References.
  • Provide Unofficial transcripts (unofficial copies accepted until appointment).
  • Provide List of courses you are interested in teaching (refer to University Catalog).
  • Provide Inclusive Excellence Statement (no more than 500 words).

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the subject areas of Chemistry and/or Biochemistry.
  • Be available on very short notice for potential appointments.
  • Participate in performance evaluations which may include review of syllabi, assignments, and reading material by the departmental personnel committee.
  • Comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment, as a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act.
  • Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years, only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
  • Sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct, if they reach the final stages of the application process.
