About The Position

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach in the subject areas of Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Requirements

• An advanced (i.e. Masters or ABD, PhD, EdD) degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
• Prior teaching experience at the university level.
• Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
• Be available on very short notice.
• Complete a satisfactory background check.
• Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (after meeting minimum qualifications and before an offer is extended).
• Sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current and/or former employers concerning any substantial allegation of misconduct (if reaching final stages).

Responsibilities

• Teach in the subject areas of Chemistry and/or Biochemistry.
• Be available on very short notice for potential appointments.
• Undergo regular performance evaluations.
• Participate in reviews of syllabi, assignments, and reading material by the departmental personnel committee in some instances.
