About The Position

California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking candidates for its Department of Teacher Education & Foundations Part-time Lecturer Pool. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in education.
California issued certification in K-12 in teaching and/or administrative experience.
10 years of successful teaching experience in the K-12 setting.
Familiarity with K-12 educational policies in California.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion.
Passionate about working with student teachers who are themselves English learners.
Degree in hand by time of appointment.
California issued certification in K-12 in teaching and/or administrative experience.
10 years of successful teaching experience in the K-12 setting.
Familiarity with K-12 educational policies in California.

Nice To Haves

California-issued certification in teaching.
Minimum of 10 years teaching in K-12 setting.
Previous supervisory/mentoring experience.
Available to work during weekdays from 8 am – 3:30 pm.
Demonstrate effectiveness in working with student teachers who are themselves English learners.
Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued.
Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.

Responsibilities

Supervise student teachers at school sites on a bi-weekly basis and debrief with them.
Mentor student teachers.
Conduct mid-term and final evaluations and post their grades in a timely manner.
Assist student teachers with the CalTPA.
Assist student teachers with the New Literacy Standards.
Respond to general questions from students.
Participate in the Supervisor Learning Community and Networking.
Assist student teachers in dealing with day-to-day problems they may have in the classroom.
