Part Time Lecturer - Art + Design

About The Position

The College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University is seeking Part-Time Lecturers for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. This role involves teaching introductory and intermediate courses across various disciplines within art, media, and design, including fundamentals, drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic design, information design, interaction design, experience design, animation, video arts, photography, visual studies, and art history. The specific courses will be determined by enrollment, funding, and departmental needs.

Requirements

  • MFA or equivalent terminal degree.
  • At least two years of successful college teaching experience.
  • Active careers with current exhibition, publication, or creative practice and course related experience (for Art, Media Arts and Design candidates).
  • Ability to effectively engage Northeastern students at course relevant levels of study, whether beginning, intermediate or advanced.
  • Must be able to maintain valid work authorization in the United States throughout the entire appointment without Northeastern University’s sponsorship for a visa.

Responsibilities

  • Teach introductory and intermediate courses in art, media, or design fundamentals.
  • Teach courses in drawing, painting, or sculpture.
  • Teach courses in graphic, information, interaction or experience design.
  • Teach courses in animation, video arts, or photography.
  • Teach courses in visual studies or art history.
  • Teach other undergraduate or graduate courses as determined by enrollment, funding and departmental needs.
