About The Position

The College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD) at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a full-time Professional Faculty Lecturer of Art History to join in a new university-wide initiative in the creation and development of hybrid courses (≥51% online and ≤49% in-person). The successful candidate will develop online content for two courses: Art Appreciation for non-art majors and our Art History Survey 1. In addition to being the faculty lead who authors and implements the online content, the successful candidate will teach two smaller in-person discussion sections of each course on the UNT Denton campus. In this position, the faculty lead will also supervise a team of adjuncts, teaching fellows, and/or teaching assistants responsible for additional discussion sections. Additional responsibilities include service to the department, college and university, and continued enhancement of the art history department. Art History faculty may receive funding to attend academic conferences/workshops in support of enriching and/or developing course content and pedagogy.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in art history or relevant discipline conferred by time of appointment.
  • At least one year of online college-level teaching experience as instructor of record.

  • Demonstrated experience in online content creation and course development.
  • Record of online content creation, development, and implementation for college-level Art Appreciation and Survey 1 courses specifically.
