About The Position

The Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Ohio Wesleyan University is seeking one or more part-time instructors with expertise in criminology or criminal justice to teach specific courses in the fall 2026 semester. There may be opportunities to teach additional courses in the Spring 2027 semester. All classes are taught in-person as Ohio Wesleyan is a residential, liberal arts institution.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Sociology, Anthropology, Criminology, or a related field (Doctoral candidates will also be considered).
  • Experience teaching Sociology, Anthropology, or Criminology courses at the undergraduate level.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to teach in-person.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one or more of the following courses in the fall 2026 semester: Law and Society, Treatment Methods & Crisis Interventions, Crime and the Media.
  • Potentially teach additional courses in the Spring 2027 semester, including introductory or upper-level electives in the candidate’s area of expertise.
