About The Position

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is recruiting part-time faculty for its Political Science instructor pool in the Social/Behavioral Sciences department. Under administrative leadership, part-time faculty perform work supporting the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District. Responsibilities relate to classroom assignments, student evaluation, curriculum, student advising, professional development, and assignment-specific needs. Applications are retained in the pool for one year, and candidates may be contacted for interviews as needed.

Requirements

• Master's degree in political science, government, public administration, or international relations; OR
• Bachelor's degree in political science, government, public administration, or international relations and a master's degree in economics, history, social science, sociology, any ethnic studies, JD, or LL.B.; OR equivalent qualifications.
• Applicants claiming equivalency must submit the additional Equivalency Determination Form and equivalency materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks that support the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District.
• Carry out responsibilities related to classroom assignments.
• Evaluate students.
• Contribute to curriculum responsibilities.
• Provide student advising.
• Participate in professional development.
• Address needs specific to the assignment.
