PART TIME INSTRUCTOR POOL - CHEMISTRY
About The Position
The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District seeks part-time Chemistry faculty to support the colleges’ and District’s visions, missions, and values. Under administrative leadership, part-time faculty carry out responsibilities related to their classroom assignment, evaluation of students, curriculum, student advising, professional development, and assignment-specific needs. The position is in the Science Department, with an emphasis in Organic Chemistry. Assignments and work hours vary. The anticipated start date is Spring 2027. The position is part of a year-round hiring pool; applications remain in the pool for one year, and candidates may be contacted for interviews as needed. The District provides an optional part-time faculty benefits program and membership in the State Teachers’ Retirement System (STRS) or the Pension Eligible Alternative Retirement (PEAR) Plan. Eligible employees and their dependents may receive medical, dental, and vision coverage at no charge for any of the plans offered. Offers of employment are contingent upon successful fingerprint clearance.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in chemistry; OR bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry and master’s degree in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry; OR equivalent qualifications.
- Emphasis in Organic Chemistry.
- Submit an Equivalency Determination Form and equivalency materials if applying under equivalency.
- Provide acceptable proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States before appointment.
- Successful fingerprint clearance is required for employment.
