About The Position
The StFX University Faculty of Education, in partnership with StFX Online Learning & Professional Studies, invites applications for a Part-time Academic Instructor for Education 534: Introduction to the Foundations of Education. This course critically examines students' own practice and its context, with a central focus on issues of power and privilege in education. The investigative approach includes ethical reasoning, autobiographical reflection, arts/aesthetics, deconstruction, and sociological analysis. The course is combined with Physical and Health Education (Administration and Policy) Concentration and Women's Leadership (Administration and Policy) Concentration.
Requirements
- PhD or MEd
- Significant experience in the course area
Responsibilities
- Teach Education 534: Introduction to the Foundations of Education
- Critically examine students' practice and its context
- Facilitate discussions on issues of power and privilege in education
- Utilize an investigative approach including ethical reasoning, autobiographical reflection, arts/aesthetics, deconstruction, and sociological analysis
