About The Position
A family in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Part-Time Housekeeper to help maintain their home to a consistently high standard. The family is looking for a reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented professional who takes genuine pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-cared-for home. The ideal candidate has significant experience working in private residences, understands how to independently manage a household cleaning routine, and naturally notices what needs attention without requiring extensive direction. The household includes two young children and two dogs, so candidates should be comfortable working in an active family home. This is not a childcare position, and pet care is not a primary responsibility. The preferred schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from approximately 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, for approximately 20 hours per week. The family has some flexibility around exact start and end times and may be open to slightly longer days for the right candidate.
Requirements
- Significant professional housekeeping experience in private residences.
- Strong knowledge of professional cleaning techniques and proper care of household surfaces and materials.
- Meticulous attention to detail and consistently high standards of cleanliness.
- Proactive and able to independently prioritize and manage responsibilities.
- Organized, efficient, and capable of maintaining established household systems.
- Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and discreet.
- Comfortable working in an active family home with young children and dogs.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach.
- Seeking a stable, long-term position with one family.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Able to provide excellent, recent professional references.
- Able to successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.
- Comfortable working around dogs.
- Able to perform the physical responsibilities associated with professional housekeeping

Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and maintain the home to a consistently high standard.
- Manage regular household cleaning routines as well as periodic deeper-cleaning needs.
- Complete household laundry, including washing, folding, and putting items away.
- Change and launder bed linens and maintain bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Keep common areas clean, tidy, and organized.
- Maintain household organization and proactively address areas that need attention.
- Monitor household supplies and assist with restocking as needed.
- Complete occasional household errands.
- Assist with light meal preparation if comfortable; this is a plus but not required.
- Communicate proactively with the family regarding household needs, supplies, or areas requiring attention.
Benefits
