Fanshawe College is seeking experienced and certified Health and Safety Instructors to teach part-time within our Corporate Training Solutions Health and Safety portfolio. Current training areas include: Working at Heights, Lift Truck Operator Training, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP). Instructors are responsible for providing the leadership required to create an effective, engaging, and safe learning environment for adult learners. This includes both classroom-based and hands-on practical instruction aligned with provincial standards and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to positive program and community development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated teaching experience with adult learners and ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Commitment to teamwork and continuous quality improvement
  • Ability to deliver both theoretical and practical (hands-on) training safely and effectively
  • Current, valid certification(s) in one or more of the following: Working at Heights (approved Ontario provider), Lift Truck Operator Training (Train-the-Trainer or equivalent), Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) Instructor certification
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in construction, manufacturing, logistics, or related sectors
  • Strong understanding of Ontario Health & Safety legislation and standards
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to training locations as required
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Transcripts are mandatory prior to any offer of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous instructional or facilitation experience preferred
