About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Part-Time Gun Customer Service associate to join their team. This role focuses on providing a personalized customer experience, handling transactions accurately, and promoting the Scheels Visa card. A key aspect of this position involves processing firearm purchases, including completing background checks and ensuring compliance with all ATF federal laws and guidelines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Gun Room's housekeeping and executing technology-based processes for firearm and suppressor transactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1-3 months of cashiering experience
Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Follow all safety procedures and perform job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases
Complete firearm background checks
Assist with Gun Room housekeeping
Ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed
Ability to execute technology-based processes for firearm and/or suppressor transactions
All other duties as assigned
