About The Position

We are a busy, active family with two wonderful kids (under age 10), a lovable yellow Lab, and two parents balancing demanding careers. We are seeking a proactive, dependable professional to become a trusted extension of our family. This role focuses on household management, including pantry and inventory management, laundry, meal preparation support, household organization, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-directed, and professional, taking pride in creating order and a peaceful home environment. While primarily a household management role, there may be opportunities for occasional help with childcare or dog care as trust is built. We value someone who can anticipate needs, work independently, and contribute to a calm, prepared home.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license required.
  • Comfortable working alongside and around a large, high-energy dog.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Previous household management or family assistant experience is ideal.
  • Exceptional proactivity and ability to think three steps ahead.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pantry, fridge, and household supply inventory, keeping staples replenished.
  • Build and manage grocery orders.
  • Conduct weekly fridge clean-outs and food rotation.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning drop-off and pickup, and occasional pharmacy runs.
  • Bring in mail and packages; open deliveries and break down boxes.
  • Research and suggest gift options for birthdays and occasions.
  • Manage ongoing household subscriptions and orders.
  • Take full ownership of all household laundry: wash, dry, fold, and put away.
  • Perform weekly rotation of sheets and towels.
  • Steam garments as needed.
  • Maintain a well-stocked and tidy laundry area.
  • Meal prep 2-3 nights per week by chopping, marinating, steaming, washing produce, and prepping ingredients.
  • Wash and store berries and produce to extend freshness.
  • Keep healthy snacks stocked and ready.
  • Perform daily home reset: dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, and general tidying.
  • Prepare the home ahead of biweekly cleaners and handle tasks they don't cover.
  • Manage seasonal clothing swaps, décor transitions, and bedding rotations.
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Unpack after travel; reset sports bags after weekend use.
  • Replace light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, air filters, and perform humidifier maintenance.
  • Track proactive home maintenance using a seasonal household calendar.
  • Undertake organizational projects throughout the home (pantry systems, bins, ordering supplies).
  • Perform weekly fridge clean-out and food rotation.
  • Clean humidifiers as needed.
  • Assist with one-time basement reorganization.
  • Manage ongoing organizational projects as priorities develop.
  • Prep backpacks, sports gear, and snacks in anticipation of the week's schedule.
  • Provide ad hoc school pickups and drop-offs as the relationship develops.
  • Offer occasional date night or overnight childcare support over time.
  • Maintain calendar visibility to stay aligned with the family's weekly schedule.
  • Schedule ad hoc appointments.
  • Serve as on-site point of contact for contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Research and coordinate repair quotes.
  • Maintain a monthly home maintenance calendar and flag upcoming needs.
  • Handle occasional family vehicle drop-off for maintenance and car washes.
  • Be comfortable around a large, high-energy dog.
