About The Position

National University is seeking part-time faculty for its Master of Social Work program. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to serving adult learners. This role involves collaboration with the Academic Program Director and other faculty to ensure program quality, student engagement, and success. The position is remote and requires a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field, with specific coursework and licensure requirements. Preferred qualifications include a Doctoral degree, research experience, and curriculum development skills.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with a focus in Social Work or a related field and 18 credit hours of Social Work coursework from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years of direct teaching experience at the master and/or doctoral level.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Three plus (3+) years of professional and/or research experience in Social Work.
  • Must have personal computer and ability to facilitate online instruction and communications remotely.
  • Resume or CV.
  • Unofficial transcripts of highest degree attained.

  • Research-based, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal article publications.
  • Curriculum development experience.
  • Experience guiding students through the dissertation process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
  • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
  • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
  • Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
  • Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
