About The Position

Teaches courses related to exercise physiology, kinesiology, strength and conditioning, wellness, biomechanics, fitness assessment, and related areas within the discipline. Provides high-quality instruction in undergraduate exercise science courses and fosters student learning within a dynamic academic environment. Course assignments will consist of different formats such as face-to-face, laboratory, or online formats depending on departmental needs. Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources. YSU inspires individuals, enhances futures, and enriches lives. Requirements

  • An earned master’s degree in exercise physiology, exercise Science, kinesiology, human performance, sports medicine, athletic training, or in an equivalent related field from an accredited institution
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice To Haves

  • Nationally recognized professional certification in exercise science, strength and conditioning, or clinical exercise physiology.
  • Acceptable certifications may include: ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP), NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NASM Certified Personal Trainer (NASM-CPT), ACE Certified Exercise Professional.
