About The Position

StretchLab Minnesota is seeking individuals with backgrounds in athletic training, personal training, massage therapy, physical therapy, Kinesiology/Exercise Science degrees, and dance/yoga/Pilates instruction to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates looking for a gap year or more before graduate school, with opportunities for part-time work while attending school. StretchLab is the industry leader in one-on-one assisted stretch therapy. As a "Flexologist" (stretch therapist), you will provide one-on-one assisted stretches to clients, focusing on improving their flexibility, mobility, and overall physical well-being through specialized techniques. You will create personalized stretching routines, requiring a deep understanding of human anatomy, movement mechanics, and stretching methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for guiding clients and ensuring their comfort and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, or related field.
  • Certification in stretching techniques or relevant disciplines (e.g., yoga, Pilates, personal training).
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt and customize stretching routines to accommodate individuals of varying ages, fitness levels, and physical conditions.
  • CPR and first aid certification.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on latest research and trends in stretching and mobility training.
  • Must be available to go through our Flexologist Training Program, which includes 20 hours of online tutorials, 2 days of in-person/hands-on training and 20 hours of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments via overhead squat to understand client limitations and needs.
  • Develop individualized stretching programs tailored to client needs, preferences, and limitations.
  • Use static, passive, and PNF stretching to help achieve client goals.
  • Offer education and guidance on the importance of assisted stretching, flexibility training, and proper body mechanics.
  • Properly document stretch sessions and client progress.
  • Maintain strong professionalism and rapport with clients, listen to their feedback, address questions or concerns, and promote a positive experience.
