About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at St. Mary's University invites applications for a Part-Time, non-tenure line, Instructor of Mathematics position. The position is expected to begin August 2026, and involves teaching 3-6 credit hours per semester with the possibility of renewal based on funding, availability, and performance. St. Mary's University, as a Catholic Marianist University, fosters the formation of people in faith and educates leaders for the common good through community, integrated liberal arts and professional education, and academic excellence. St. Mary's is the oldest Catholic university in the Southwest and continues to advocate the Marianist mission. St. Mary's enrolls approximately 3500 students in a diverse university with four schools, more than 40 academic programs including Ph.D. and J.D. programs, and numerous pre-professional programs. The successful candidate is expected to support and contribute to the University's Marianist educational mission. Requirements

  • M.S. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education
  • Experience teaching in the calculus sequence (intermediate algebra, finite math, college algebra, precalculus, or calculus)
  • Experience teaching statistics (stats for life sciences or business statistics)
  • Must be on campus and teach in-person.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching multiple sections per semester, but at less than a half-time teaching load.
  • Hold weekly office hours.
  • Maintain a Canvas page for each course.
  • Record student attendance in Rattler Navigate.
  • Provide timely grade and attendance reporting.
