About The Position

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Assumption University seeks to hire part-time adjunct instructors for the Fall 2026 semester. The department needs to staff several sections of MAT 114: Elementary Functions, a course in algebra and precalculus. The courses are in-person, and all faculty are required to keep office hours: two hours per class section. Class meetings run from August 31 to December 16, which includes the final exam week. Adjuncts are welcomed as important contributors to the department and to our students. They are provided with office space, email, voicemail, support for using our learning management system (Brightspace), and other resources needed for quality teaching. Successful candidates may have the possibility of teaching additional courses in subsequent semesters.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics or in a related field.
  • ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to keep office hours.
  • Ability to teach in-person.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and computer screen for periods of time with close vision and the ability to adjust visual focus plus manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform calculations when necessary.
