About The Position

National University, a veteran-founded, nonprofit institution in San Diego, California, is seeking part-time faculty specializing in Electrical and Computer Engineering for its Department of Engineering, Data, and Computer Sciences within the College of Business, Engineering and Technology. The university is dedicated to providing accessible higher education to adult learners and has been doing so since 1971. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, a commitment to serving a diverse adult student body, and engage in related scholarship and/or research. This role involves close collaboration with the Academic Program Director and other faculty to ensure program quality, student engagement, and success.

Requirements

A Master’s degree and relevant professional experience is required.

Nice To Haves

A Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or a related field from a regionally accredited university is preferred.
Industry experience in the field of embedded systems, VLSI, and microelectronics is preferred.
Online teaching experience highly preferred.
Experience in Higher Education highly preferred.
Curriculum development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).
Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
