About The Position

National University is seeking part-time faculty to teach in the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (California) program within the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability or potential for excellent teaching in their field and a dedication to serving the university's diverse adult student population. This role involves close collaboration with the Academic Program Director and other faculty, contributing to program quality, student engagement, and student success. This position is fully remote and located in California.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or in a related field of psychology from a regionally accredited university required.
  • Current California counseling license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D., Psy.D.) preferred.
  • 3+ years of higher education teaching experience preferred.
  • Statement of teaching experience online and/or onsite for a diverse student body.

Responsibilities

  • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
  • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).
  • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
  • Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
  • Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.
