About The Position

Nebius Academy is an educational platform dedicated to helping experienced software developers stay current with technological advancements, particularly in the use of AI tools for programming. The platform offers specialized courses focused on AI-Assisted Programming, aiming to enhance code quality, development speed, and overall efficiency for professionals. The mission is to equip engineers with cutting-edge knowledge in AI-assisted development, positioning them as leaders in the evolving landscape of programming. The company is building a talent pool for ongoing roles as Instructors, Authors, and Subject Matter Experts within this program. These positions are part-time, involving approximately 10-15 hours per week, and offer remote cooperation with a flexible schedule. The selection process is asynchronous, including application review, a video interview, a test assignment, and a final call with the hiring team.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on technical expertise in software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning, or data science (for Subject Matter Expert role).
  • Ability to evaluate real-world AI/LLM applications, architectures, and workflows, distinguishing practical approaches from hype (for Subject Matter Expert role).
  • Experience structuring complex technical knowledge into competency maps, frameworks, skill decompositions, or curriculum logic (for Subject Matter Expert role).
  • Ability to review technical learning content critically and provide clear, structured feedback to authors and internal stakeholders (for Subject Matter Expert role).
  • Seniority level allowing autonomous work after onboarding, with strong ownership and minimal supervision (for Subject Matter Expert role).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to mixed stakeholders (for Subject Matter Expert role).
  • Availability to collaborate within European time zones (for Subject Matter Expert role).
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with strong proficiency in one or more of the following: Golang, Kotlin, Swift, C++, Android, iOS (for Author and Instructor roles).
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar in real development workflows (for Author and Instructor roles).
  • Proven track record in engineering advocacy, tech leadership, conference speaking, or mentoring (for Author and Instructor roles).
  • Strong desire to share knowledge and explain complex concepts in a clear, comprehensible way (for Author and Instructor roles).
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of a content area (for Author role).
  • Strong attention to detail (for Author role).
  • Availability to dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to collaboration (for Author role).
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable, engaging learning experiences for professional audiences (for Instructor role).
  • Confident, collaborative, and audience-oriented facilitation style (for Instructor role).
  • Strong preparation habits and time management; able to commit 10–15 hours per week (for Instructor role).

Responsibilities

  • Lead live, hands-on training sessions for experienced developers, focusing on integrating AI coding tools into their workflows.
  • Conduct live, interactive training sessions and workshops.
  • Prepare practical workshop scenarios and training materials in collaboration with Instructional Designers.
  • Develop reusable materials such as code snippets, prompt libraries, challenge tasks, and reference guides.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to ensure alignment between asynchronous and live content.
  • Communicate with students during Q&A sessions.
  • Review and incorporate learner feedback to improve session design.
  • Create core educational content for courses, including structure, learning objectives, lessons, assessments, and final projects.
  • Collaborate to define course structure and learning objectives for each module.
  • Create clear, concise, and comprehensive content such as lessons, manuals, guides, session outlines, and assessments.
  • Prepare content in multiple formats: text, draft slides, and screencasts.
  • Participate as a speaker in learning videos.
  • Design the final project for the course.
  • Work iteratively with instructional designers to improve content quality.
  • Ensure all content meets industry standards and aligns with course objectives.
  • Contribute to content updates based on student feedback analysis.
  • Optionally participate as an instructor in live sessions (compensated separately).
  • Shape the strategic direction of the curriculum, ensuring programs reflect industry needs and AI trends.
  • Define topic priorities for AI learning programs targeting engineers, developers, analysts, and related technical roles.
  • Decompose AI skills into competency maps, mastery frameworks, and learning roadmaps.
  • Review course structures and content for technical accuracy, practical relevance, and alignment with learning outcomes.
  • Act as an internal authority for the Curriculum team, translating market needs and AI trends into program strategy.
  • Support the selection and evaluation of external authors and experts.
  • Monitor AI tools and emerging workflows, converting insights into recommendations for new or updated programs.
