The Dual Credit program at Durham College is seeking an experienced and motivated professional who shares our commitment to increase secondary student engagement, confidence and success in a college course to teach GNED 1521 Eco Warrior. Part-time faculty teach up to 6 hours per week with varied schedules Monday through Friday during regular high school hours. The majority of courses are delivered as two weekly 75-minute classes in alignment with the high school timetable and periods. Part-time recruitment is ongoing and is dependent on when courses are being taught and the need for faculty to teach. Course assignments are based on scheduling and instructional needs. Academic starting wages are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience. Upon hire, the incumbent will receive a pay calculation to determine their ‘step’ placement within the pay range. Part-time professors teaching a dual credit course will be paid on the applicable wage grid, which currently ranges from $72.56 through $128.86 per teaching contact hour. Professors in this program may teach a variety of delivery models, which could involve teaching at a partner high school located in the community, or in some cases, on the college campuses.
