About The Position

This is a part-time teaching opportunity for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for the 2026-2027 school year, partnering with an Illinois school district. This on-site position offers a 2-3 day per week schedule. The educator will provide targeted instruction and individualized support to help students develop communication, academic, and independent learning skills. The role involves coordinating with various school professionals and families to align instructional approaches and address student needs. Responsibilities include supporting IEP goals, tracking student development, adapting instruction, and fostering a welcoming environment for student participation and progress.

Requirements

Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field.
Must maintain an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and instructional skills.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to contribute to a collaborative school team.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a school setting serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
