About The Position

Part-time faculty deliver instruction in laboratory and/or clinical courses using a common syllabus and approved curriculum while supporting CEI’s mission to provide quality education that meets the needs of students, regional employers, and the community. This position will carry a 9-month faculty agreement and a required start date of 08/10/2026.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Graduation from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene or dental program, as applicable
  • Five or more years of clinical experience
  • Incumbent must reside in Idaho

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lab and/or clinical instruction in accordance with CODA Standards, CEI policies, and course objectives
  • Adhere to and deliver course learning activities set by the primary course instructor, including the course map, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with the Dental Hygiene curriculum and CODA curriculum map
  • Demonstrate ability to work harmoniously with students, staff, faculty, and the public and perform normal duties with minimal supervision
  • Possess a working knowledge of dental software
  • Possess prior knowledge of educational methodology (preferred) or willingness to complete required educational methodology assignments
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new instructional techniques and technologies
  • Evaluates and grades students’ clinical performance, laboratory work, assignments, and projects by specified deadlines
  • Be available to students for coaching and remediation
  • Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties, training, and development
  • Use effective, adult learner-centered teaching strategies and instructional technology to promote student success
  • Engage professionally with students and colleagues and participate in required meetings and calibration activities
  • Comply with college policies, FERPA, and safety and emergency procedures
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
