About The Position

Adjunct pool applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis. Adjuncts are paid starting at $900 per credit hour. Adjunct Faculty are hired on a semester-by-semester, as-needed basis. Faculty deliver instruction using a common syllabus and approved curriculum while supporting CEI’s mission to provide quality education that meets the needs of students, regional employers, and the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Graduation from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene or dental program, as applicable
  • Current subject-matter expertise or willingness to learn
  • Five or more years of clinical experience
  • Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn’t sponsor Visas).

Nice To Haves

  • Possess prior knowledge of educational methodology or willingness to complete required educational methodology assignments
  • Teaching experience in higher education or clinical education
  • Experience with instructional technology and LMS systems
  • Educational methodology courses taken
  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver didactic instruction in accordance with CODA Standards, CEI policies, and course objectives
  • Develop and maintain course materials, including the course map, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments aligned with the Dental Hygiene curriculum and CODA curriculum map
  • Use effective, adult learner-centered teaching strategies and instructional technology to promote student success
  • Be available to students for coaching, remediation, and educational support
  • Maintain accurate student records and required documentation
  • Evaluates and grades students’ didactic performance, assignments, and projects by specified deadlines
  • Demonstrate ability to work harmoniously with students, staff, and faculty and perform normal duties with minimal supervision
  • Engage professionally with students and colleagues and participate in required meetings and calibration activities
  • Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties, training, and development
  • Comply with college policies, FERPA, and safety and emergency procedures
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
