About The Position

Westside Community Schools is seeking a Part-Time Custodian to join their team. This position is available immediately and involves performing essential cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for students and staff. The role requires adherence to schedules, effective communication, and the ability to perform physical tasks associated with custodial duties.

Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred
Ability to perform the essential job functions
Effective interpersonal skills
Effective grooming skills
Ability to lift 55 pounds to shoulder height occasionally
Ability to push / pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently
Must be able to go up and down stairs frequently
Regular bending and standing as needed in a daily shift

Responsibilities

Perform major cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, wet-mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying trash, and cleaning chalkboards.
Disinfect restrooms, including floors and all fixtures.
Wash windows and sills.
Replace light bulbs.
Fill dispensers.
Set up facilities for student and adult use.
Make minor building repairs and report major repairs needed.
Ensure all doors and windows are appropriately locked.
Assist in major clean-up tasks during the summer, such as washing desks and chairs, washing down walls, and stripping and waxing floors.
Maintain a professional relationship with students, faculty, administration, and community patrons.
Submit all requested data and information.
Regularly monitor district email for pertinent communication.
Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisors and District Administrators.
Complete requested paperwork.
