About The Position

Latin School of Chicago is seeking a reliable and skilled Evening Custodian with experience cleaning office buildings and, most preferably, schools. The work schedule is 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The pay rate is $21.42 per hour. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Prior custodial or janitorial experience is strongly preferred.
Ability to understand and follow instructions and safety protocols.
Ability to work independently and manage assigned areas efficiently.
Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment and safety practices.
Ability to work with cleaning chemicals safely, following established safety procedures.
Ability to perform repetitive motions such as sweeping, mopping, wiping, and vacuuming.

Nice To Haves

Experience cleaning office buildings and, most preferably, schools.
Experience using carpet extraction or similar equipment is helpful.
Basic maintenance skills to make minor repairs.

Responsibilities

Perform general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
Perform routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.
Empty trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
Unlock doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.
Remove snow when are where is needed (shovel and blower).
Stripping and waxing floors when needed.
Operating carpet extraction equipment when needed.
Cleaning washrooms and offices.
Snow removal when needed.
Help set up for the next day's events (moving tables, chairs, bleachers, etc.).
Other related duties as needed and/or assigned.
