About The Position

The job of a Custodian is to provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean place to learn, play, and develop. A Child's Heart Learning Center & Nursery is looking for a Custodian to join their team. They describe their community as peaceful, where each staff member is considered family.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Previous custodial and grounds experience required
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks
Working knowledge of the methods, techniques, and materials used in custodial work
Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies

Responsibilities

Provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean place to learn, play, and develop.
Walk, sit, stand, and reach with hands and arms, stoop or kneel, and crouch.
Lift or move heavy objects.
Ensure the safety of students.
Move and stand for extended periods.
Use manual dexterity to move items around as needed.
Understand written instructions and checklists.
Effectively communicate needs to Administration.
Perform other related duties, as assigned by the administrative team, to ensure the efficient, effective functioning of the school environment.
