About The Position

The District Clerk's Office is seeking to fill two Part-Time Court Clerk positions. This role involves preparing and maintaining court files accurately and efficiently, responding to inquiries, preparing case binders, and performing various in-office duties such as managing file check-outs in the case management system, filing jackets, indexing, copying, assisting staff, managing shelf files, imaging, scanning documents, shredding, printing dockets, and other assigned tasks. The position requires frequent court attendance and adherence to a policy against visible tattoos.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Strong filing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other county employees, elected officials and co-workers.
  • Self-starter skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt and cope with fast-paced office.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and required auto insurance.
  • Must have no visible tattoos.

  • Typing preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains court files in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Responds to inquiries or directs them to the appropriate person.
  • Prepares case binders and makes them ready for file backs.
  • Enters the location of files checked out in the case management system.
  • Files back file jackets.
  • Indexes on file jackets.
  • Makes copies.
  • Assists the District Clerk, Administrative Assistant, Supervisors, and Data Coordinator.
  • Shifts file jackets on shelves.
  • Assists in the imaging department.
  • Scans court documents.
  • Performs shredding.
  • Prints docketing indexes for court.
  • Performs all other designated duties.
  • Makes frequent court attendance.
