About The Position

The Part-time Associate (Meat) reports to the Store Manager and performs duties assigned by management. Work may include receiving inventory, stocking and maintaining a store section, operating a cash register, providing carry-out services, and cleaning the store. The associate may prepare perishable products for sale and is expected to provide friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous customer assistance. The role requires working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Ability to read and write English and interact with the general public and coworkers.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Maintain an assigned store section and, as needed, order, receive, and stock merchandise using proper equipment.
Ensure merchandise is priced correctly and check product date codes to support proper rotation.
Stock shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated or frozen cases.
Prepare perishable products for sale when needed.
Set up advertising and promotional displays.
Review invoices and bills for accuracy.
Clean and maintain sanitation standards in store interior and exterior areas and the parking lot as directed by store management.
Operate a cash register; receive customer payments and make change or process check, charge, and debit transactions.
Process cash or credit refunds when approved by management.
Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
Provide customers with current store and product information and courteous assistance.
Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles when requested.
Perform basic bookkeeping duties.
Record lost or damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
