LANIER TECHNICAL COLLEGE; PART TIME ALLIED HEALTH/NURSE AIDE LABORATORY ASSISTANT
About The Position
Lanier Technical College is seeking a part-time Laboratory Assistant for its Allied Health/Nurse Aide programs. This position is non-benefits eligible and is employed on an individual academic term basis. The assistant will work under the direct supervision of faculty members, performing routine standardized laboratory work. Responsibilities include preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, inventory and requisition of supplies, and assisting faculty in the supervision of students in laboratories. A background check is part of the selection process. Assistance or accommodation can be requested from Human Resources.
Requirements
- Completion of a Nursing Fundamental course or a Medical Assisting Skills I course from a postsecondary college or university.
- Must include copy of transcript; and will accept an unofficial transcript.
- Ability to work at multiple campus locations as needed.
- Successful completion of the course(s) or program which are appropriate to the assignment as an assistant.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of Nurse Aide Certification, Medical Assistant Diploma or higher from a postsecondary college or university.
Responsibilities
- Assist faculty members with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction
- Tutor or mentor students
- Perform laboratory maintenance
- Clean labs as needed
- Obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials
