About The Position

Lanier Technical College is seeking an Adjunct Nurse Aide Instructor for part-time, non-benefits-eligible employment. This position involves didactic and/or clinical instruction, preparing and teaching classes as assigned. The role requires directing student learning and assessing student progress in achieving program requirements across various learning domains. Classes may be taught online and/or in the classroom setting across multiple campuses, with day and evening options available. A background check is part of the selection process.

Requirements

  • Diploma in medical field or health science from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • One year of relevant work experience.
  • Valid GA Nursing License.
  • Demonstrated competencies in specific course content (coursework, license, certification, etc.).
  • Ability to obtain GA Nurse Aide "Train the Trainer" certification within 60 days of hire, if not already possessed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, perform body mechanics, lift 25 - 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Knowledge of course standards and skill/expertise in subject area.
  • Ability to understand, accept and follow instructions.
  • Skill in the operation of work-related computers.
  • Appropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function as the new, beginning, or advanced level.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare lesson materials.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours based on the needs of the college.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms.
  • Previous or current long-term care work experience.
  • GA Nurse Aide Train-The-Trainer certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus, ensuring desired course outcomes meet stated objectives.
  • Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught.
  • Displays a positive professional attitude toward students and teaching.
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Reports to and provides a periodic performance appraisal to the Program Chair and/or Allied Health Instructors.
  • Administers and grades class examinations.
  • Maintains records of student grades and student files.
  • Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed.
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training and laboratory areas.
  • Meets ALL required deadlines and completes ALL mandatory training.
  • Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
