About The Position

Join our team in caring for young children at our early learning center in South Tampa. Our location has been open for 30+ years. The preschool embraces a constructivist approach to learning, providing a strong academic foundation in a warm, nurturing and fun environment. The JCC understands the desire of our employees to have the proper work-life balance, which we can offer. This position is for a part time afternoon assistant teacher. Hours scheduled may range from 18 to 25 hours per week between 12:00pm and 6:00pm.

Requirements

• Able to work 18 to 25 hours per work.
• Hours will be schedule between 12:00pm and 6:00pm.
• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a urine drug screen and background check

Nice To Haves

• CDA helpful (not required)
• Early Childhood Certification helpful (not required)

Responsibilities

• Provide a stimulating, safe and developmentally appropriate educational environment for preschool children.
• Provide basic needs for children.
• Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.
• Establish and implement classroom management effectively.
• Participate in ongoing professional development.
• Stand, interact and supervise while on the playground.
• Lift 35 pounds and comfort children.
• Sign up within 90 days of employment for DCF 45 training hours (required by the state.)
