This role offers a chance to build meaningful relationships with older children while providing light household support before they arrive home from school.

Requirements

• Previous nanny or childcare experience with school-age children
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Safe and reliable vehicle to transport children
• Comfortable transporting children when needed
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Excellent communication skills
• Dependable, organized, and proactive
• Able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude
• Regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching and pushing
• Able to lift 35 pounds safely
• Able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
• Able to react quickly to certain situations
• Able to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner

Responsibilities

• Pick up one child from school while the other arrives home by bus.
• Prepare healthy after-school snacks.
• Supervise homework and reading.
• Encourage engaging activities that balance creativity, outdoor play, and fun with friends.
• Bring new ideas that match children's interests (music, art, remote-control vehicles, video games) while expanding their horizons.
• Provide occasional transportation to playdates or activities.
• Complete light household tasks such as tidying the kitchen and main living spaces, unloading or loading the dishwasher, light laundry, taking out the trash, and helping keep the home organized.
• Clean up of activities.
• Engage in active play outside, weather permitting.
