About The Position

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The part-time Paraprofessional will performs some office or clerical duties that are moderately complex. The Paraprofessional will follow set procedures and may exercise some independent judgment in carrying out instructions while offering support to instructional staff in completion of their duties. The Paraprofessional will also provide support for the full-time secretary in completion of office duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Receptionist: Answers and distributes incoming calls and messages (answering questions about program several times a day). Meets and greets visitors and students as they enter the center and provides accurate information to the public. Student enrollment: Complete intake form and orientation with new students Administer the O’Net interest inventory and barriers assessment Assess student educational levels using the TABE Locator and proper TABE form as indicated-administer TABE according to publisher’s guidelines Record Keeping and Reports: Enroll students in database LACES Post student attendance in LACES Maintain student files as required Assist instructor in keeping accurate record of student attendance Complete records and reports as requested Assist instructor in making calls or writing letters for student recruitment and retention purposes Clerical Responsibilities: Type letters, memos, correspondence, travel vouchers, purchase orders, minutes of meetings, etc., as needed. Answer phones Assist instructor in maintaining student records File student records and correspondence. Process incoming and outgoing mail. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience with clerical/office work.
